Welcome to 1998! We here at the 'times are glad to have you along
for the ride. We're gearing up for a great New Year, with lots of
plans for features, articles, and special events. So, without
further adieu, here's the first SCROOMtimes of 1998!
Skippy had some thoughts to lay on you (we got a little worried
around here. Usually, when we smell that much smoke, it means that
Dave fell asleep in bed with his cigar again), So check out his
latest "Random Thoughts" column. Pelican Smith, the Geek Lord,
assures you that his job really is just as hard as yours. Really.
Truly...
In sports, Dean has broken down, and gone back to his beloved Colts.
Read about how it happened in Fun & Games. The Professor has
some advice for those of you anxiously awaiting the High Holy day
of the year - Superbowl Sunday! Just a couple more weeks to prepare
for the services. And Dave Lind has an analysis of the Latrell
Sprewell affair.
In our features section, our staff shares their New Year's resolutions
with you all, in a feeble attempt at getting a little more support
in keeping to them. In "Staff Resolutions" Dave had a little more
to say about the subject, check his resolutions are expressed in
"Resolutions of a Madman". And, we have a new contributor, Dr.
Vijay Mehrotra, who has some kind words for a fallen comrade...
sort of. In "Was it Something I Said?"
Well, we also don't want to seem too one-sided, so this month we
have our first unabashadly Christian piece, The Room. As well as
a strange little piece entitled "Jack Kevorkian Reviews Suicide
Notes". Yes, there are some very strange people out there!
And remember - we're always looking for more contributors. And
readers - tell a friend or two about us!
